The Best Forex Indicator: No. 1 Forex Trigger Indicator

Picture of dart board with title at top and dart in the middle.

Hi friend!  If you’re looking for an indicator that does all the work for you, including telling you when to pull the trigger, you’re in the right place.  No wonder I call this blog post The Best Forex Indicator: No. 1 Forex Trigger Indicator.

You will soon find out that it is the best forex signal and best forex indicator that predicts direction.

NBIf you re not yet into the forex, what I am about to reveal to you will work in any market.

I was prompted to write this blog post when I received an e-mail from Dan M., a new member of the TradingSmarts tribe.

He is relatively new to the forex, and is looking for a low-maintenance strategy that doesn’t require him to babysit his forex trading charts all day long, and one that will get him to his goal of making US$4,000. per month.

As I have said before, that comes from achieving 20 pips a day which, trading standard lots, nets that much.  Just do the math, and you’ll see what I mean.

This is right up my alley, because I am very much into ‘simple’ – stuff that is easy, and that works – nothing that will cause brain damage.

If you’re in a hurry, and want to get right down to the The Best Forex Indicator, click here.

If your interest is more along the lines of trading stocks, you may wish to check out these blog posts:  Stock Trading Stops, How to Pick Stocks, Stock Trading Rules, and Three Winning Stock Trading Strategies.

Or, stick around for the Forex Tip below, and then carry on from there.

Forex Tip

The ‘Carry Trade Strategy’ goes like this… you buy a high-yielding currency, and sell a relatively lower yielding currency.  You profit in two ways:

You earn the interest rate differential between the two currencies – referred to as the ‘Carry.’  This is because you are long the higher-yielding currency and short the lower-yielding currency.

Should you hold the opposite position, wherein you are long the lower-yielder and short the higher-yielder, the interest rate differential goes against you.  This is known as the ‘Cost of Carry.’

Spot prices ascend in tandem with the interest rate differential.  Currency pairs with ‘significant interest rate differentials’ tend to appreciate in sync with the higher-yielding currency.

This is because traders who are long the high yielder get rewarded, thereby ramping up buying interest.

Traders who are short the high yielder get penalized, thus reducing selling interest.

Obviously, there is more to this strategy than what I have presented here.  If you want to know those details, please contact me.

Intro

The forex market (a.k.a. the foreign exchange market) used to be the preserve of professional traders.  But, not any more.  People like you and I, together with traders all around the world who have varying degrees of experience, can now trade this exciting market.

It puts in ~US$5.3-trillion per day (YES, a day – that’s not a typo).  For the rest of it significance, please check out this blog post.

Compared to the stock market, the forex continues to be somewhat mysterious and seemingly difficult to master for newcomers.

TradingSmarts.com removes the veil around the forex, and dispels its mystique for enlightened traders like you.

You have probably heard about the forex, and know something about its potential, or you may even be involved in it already.

But, you may still have some lingering questions about how it really works, what moves it, and how best to trade it.

At TradingSmarts.com, I cater exclusively to your needs as a forex trader, or as a trader of the other markets too, offering access to an advanced forex trading platform (Tallinex), and products, services and tools customized to your forex trading needs.

My commitment to your forex trading success extends to my professional approach to the forex and unparalleled service to you, my valued customer.

I encourage you to explore other blog posts I have written on the forex – Currency Trading Strategy, Forex Trading Techniques, Forex Pivot Points, and Ten Forex Wealth Strategies  – and then give it a go at Tallinex, where you can test your mettle in that market.

My previous blog posts, together with this one and more to come in the future, will enable you to develop a structured game plan to crush the forex market.

You can ask me questions any time at the Contact link.  There is no such thing as a stupid question.  I won’t live long enough to make all the mistakes myself.

I have written on the other markets too:  VIX, After Hours Trading, Trading Volume, Stock Trading Stops, How to Pick Stocks, Stock Trading Rules, Three Winning Stock Trading Strategies, MACD Divergence, and ADR Indicator.

Of course, I welcome comments and questions on all markets:  contact.

Trade Trigger Definition

A ‘Trade Trigger’ is typically defined as a market situation, as in a rise or fall in the price of an index or security.  It is used to automate certain types of trades, such as selling a stock, when price reaches a certain level.

I am basically talking about the same sort of thing in this blog post, except for the automation part.  You don’t really need that aspect to employ my strategy coming up next.  It’s just too easy to do it yourself, and be empowered in the process.  I hate automated anything in trading.

In this blog post, I am not dealing with a forex trigger system per se, nor am I going to conduct a forex trigger review.  More specifically, I am concerned with forex trigger alerts in the form of one specific indicator (not a myriad of forex triggers) that you will soon discover.

If you’ve been looking for forex indicators that work and the best forex indicators to use, there is only one you need concern yourself with, and here it is…

The Best Forex Indicator

And now I need your attention for the main event – the best forex indicator and signal for forex trading.

This strategy only requires the use of MACD on your forex trading charts, although I have also plotted the 50 EMA and 200 EMA out of sheer force of habit.

The other thing that is required is that you exercise extreme patience in looking for/waiting for the set-up to occur that I am about to reveal to you.

Quite simply, this strategy calls for buying a currency pair in any timeframe, when MACD goes extremely oversold below the waterline, and then punches up through its trigger line from below.

To prove my point, I will show you eight different timeframes below – quarterly all the way down to the 5 minute – where you can clearly see that this strategy works in any timeframe.

In each case, there is a swoon in price, accompanied by MACD falling off way below the waterline, turning around, and punching up through its trigger line to denote a buy signal.

I hate to disappoint you, but that’s it… that’s the strategy in a nutshell.  Great strategies don’t have to be difficult to understand or implement.  EASY works just fine in my books.

Don’t believe all those hyped strategies on the Internet.  They’re just designed to relieve you of your money.

Have a look at your own forex trading charts, and see if you can spot similar occurrences of this pattern.

Now, I can hear you saying, “Yeah but, you have to wait for a very long time for such signals occur.”

You are right, if you are just focused on one pair in one timeframe.  But, let’s suppose that you have 28 pairs on your forex trading platform, for the sake of  argument.  You will more than likely have many more.

If you take into consideration that each forex pair has eight possible timeframes to look at, that translates into 224 different charts that you could inspect for this particular setup.

You don’t have to look at them all, but go through as many as you can.  You are bound to find a number of situations where this exact pattern is in play, representing a great buying opportunity.

I know, I know.  I hear you saying that this amounts to a lot of work, but I didn’t say there wouldn’t be some effort required to find such trading opportunities.

As with all things trading, you have to do your homework before you press enter on a trade.  That’s just the nature of the beast.

An important lesson here is you should never fall in love with a pair.  You should only trade a pair that is cooperating – in this case price and MACD behaving as described above.

At this point, you may have some lingering doubts about this strategy, but charts don’t lie.  Have a look at the eight charts below, before you form an opinion.

I defy you to prove that this isn’t the best indicator for forex trading.  If you put the time and effort into following it to the T, it will pay off handsomely for you.

Charts that Prove Strategy:

Regarding the EURUSD 15 minute chart above, I’m sure you noticed that, after MACD flashed its buy signal by punching up through its trigger line, price experienced some weakness – but MACD stayed above its trigger line.

Nothing to worry about because, if you employed a 30-pip stop after your entry point, you would not have been stopped out.

As you can see from the chart, price then put in a 1-2-3 bottom, and took off from there.

Hopefully, by now, you can see why I titled this blog post, The Best Forex Indicator: No. 1 Forex Trigger Indicator.  It doesn’t get any easier than just following this strategy – patiently looking for/waiting for this setup to unfold, and then realizing that you have a bona fide trade at hand that will put money in your account.

If you have been wondering what is the best forex indicator for forex trading, you have just found it.  Trust me… it works.  Try it.
